These boulders are truly wonderful. They look just like you’d expect dragon eggs to look. They’re huge (over 1m in diameter) and perfectly round! Such a peculiarity of our wonderful world.

One of the more magical places in the world to just sit and listen to the icebergs chink off of one another

From our tiny plane, I could see this mountain range looming in the distance and hoped this view would line up! This was taken en route from Queenstown to Milford Sound.

One of the absolutely best road views in the entire world. Mount Cook feels so close you could touch it!

The summit of Mackinnon Pass on the Milford Track is a reward in itself after the uphill slog involved in reaching it. But then when you are awarded with views like this too, well, it just could not get any better.

Probably my favourite campground in New Zealand. The views here are just amazing, and on a still day the lake is like a mirror.

The incredible power of Stirling Falls in Milford Sound. If you think it looks like I would have copped a drenching taking this, you’d be right.

These beautifully triangular mountains are so recognisable to anyone who has seen them in the flesh. They’re such a work of art.

A rare quiet moment at the famous Wanaka Tree. Even with the lights of town reflecting across the lake, you couldn’t help but be mesmerised by the sight of the Milky Way beaming down from far, far away.

Lake Kirkpatrick, near Queenstown, would have to be one of the best places to capture beautiful still reflections like this.

When you race around in your van trying to find a southern facing viewpoint because you know this is happening!

Flying high above Mount Cook shortly after sunrise, the braided rivers below glistening in the morning light.

These mountains are so imposing, that away from the gaggle of tourists, you truly feel like you could be the only person on the planet.
